Explosive!Guest blog by Nila Ridings

I recently spent eight long days in Wichita at the federal courthouse observing the pre-trial hearing of an HOA lawsuit where a Homeowners Association board member attacked and severely beat a homeowner with a crow bar! These six photos, taken at the hospital, show the viciousness of the attack.

It seems the homeowner discovered work being done on a neighbor’s condo that also happens to belong to the mother of an HOA board member. While others had been on a long waiting list to have their work orders completed, the board member opted to make his mother’s condo top priority over everyone else. The homeowner took his camera and phone to the nearby common area and proceeded to document this “special treatment.”

Balls the Size of Texas!

Our old buddies, the ethically-challenged Associa Companies are trying to bribe homeowners into ‘liking’ them on FaceBook. Associa is the massive HOA management company run by the infamous Texas state senator, John Carona. Billions of dollars flow through his fingers as he rams pro-HOA, anti-homeowner laws through his state legislature. But if a Georgia homeowner ‘likes’ his or her Associa-run neighborhood on FaceBook that homeowner just might win a 200 dollar prize.

Nah, I have to amend that: The neighborhood that racks up the most ‘likes’ can win a 200 dollar prize.

Chicago Lawyers? Phew!

Oh how a little power over your neighbors turns people into freaks! The neighbor battle linked below looks like fiction, but it really is happening in a Chicago condominium.

Ellis Levin is a lawyer who’s represented several condominium associations. He’s also been fired by a couple of them. But the bitterness that goes on in the Thorndale Beach North high-rise is beyond belief.

Sigrid Ingold is the president of the board, a position she’s held for 19 years. She and Lawyer Levin are pretty tight, and condo owners say the bullying by Ingold and Levin is crazy.

Wacky Trayvon Martin Juror

Actually, he was only a potential juror who was tossed out of the jury pool when defense attorneys discovered some prejudicial FaceBook postings.

But this goofball, Jerry Counelis, had apparently posted a comment that said, “Justice for Trayvon” two weeks before George Zimmerman was arrested for Martin’s murder. Then he lied about it during voir dire.

When Counelis was ousted from the jury pool he came back into the courthouse and tried to get into the jury room. He was yelling that his anonymity had been taken away from him. And this is the kind of nut case who could have gotten onto the jury? Dear Lord God!

A Pretty Poopy Idea

A number of Homeowners Associations across the country are demanding that all dog owners have their pooches’ cheeks swabbed so the HOA can have a DNA database to catch homeowners who fail to pick up poops. The doggie DNA thing is ludicrous on its face. It’s expensive and too easy for the lawn Nazis to abuse the system.

A town in Spain has come up with a much better idea. A number of volunteers in Brunete, twenty miles west of Madrid, are walking the streets watching for violators of the dog cleanup rules. They scoop the poop and mail it back to the dog owners in a package labeled “Lost Property.” Such a lovely idea. The town now reports a drop in doggie doo of 70 percent. Here’s the link: But keep reading. There’s more!
