I just got through read Ward Lucas’s book Neighbors at War, believe me if you are going to move to or live in or even thinking about moving into a homeowners association please do yourself a favor and get this book and read it. I have been with the HOA Reform for sometime and over the years these HOA’s, HOA Attorney’s, HOA management companies have in fact gotten worst over the years and it will not I repeat this it will not get any better unless you as a homeowner stand up and say enough is enough. All of you if your values your ownership in what you have worked so hard to obtain and to keep, you must write your state representative and senators to pass new laws that will put a stop to this HOA trickier to make you believe that they are preserving and protecting property values it is a lie wholly do not buy into this myth. The HOA and their attorney will always win, because they can and will twist the truth of rules that are vague in nature and it will always be in their (HOA, HOA attorneys favor. They know YOU do not have the money to fight them and they use it to off balance and the courts take a blind eye it does not matter that you are good person or that you and barely getting by these days and that is true for a lot people. These HOA set themselves up as a faux government and you have no rights not even under the US constitution which this country was founded on. Mr. Lucas is right they even put themselves above the 10 commandments at least 3 of them # 8,9,10. We as Americans will not live under a dictorship and only every red blooded American can put a stop to this HOA industry. Please we are all in this together and we as millions can put a stop this industry do not buy into a HOA and for the ones who still live there I shall pray for you, but you have to stand up and be counted we can not do this by one person alone.

Thanks to Ward’s book and this website a lot of HOA Warriors are finding each other and connecting. There is power in numbers…and the more fighters, the more power. The more connections the more power. If you are a Facebook users join us there on Neighbors At War. Education is power and HOA members are learning from each other there.
Legislation takes time, energy, and determination. It doesn’t happen with one phone call or letter. That is the hardest part for most people to understand….the process is grueling. Building a group of homeowners to work with the legislators is the fastest and most efficient way to go but it still should be expected to take 2-5 years. And that requires nearly daily contact with the legislators and many trips to the state capitol. Because if you don’t make the trips the CAI sharks are waiting right there at every legislator’s door to eat your bill.
Keep up the fight! And join us in building a bigger and stronger HOA Reform Army.
