A newly elected HOA treasurer in Georgia allegedly siphoned 43,000 bucks out of the checking account of his Homeowners Association. At some point he must have panicked and he started slamming money back into the account 10,000 dollars at a time!
I can just picture him picking up a copy of Neighbors At War at the airport bookshop, reading it on the plane, and then scrambling to pay back the money before he was accused of a felony.
Too late.
Even if you pay it back it’s still felony theft. Of course, he’s innocent until proven guilty.

This was a novel idea I had not heard of yet. Instead of going to the bank for a loan, and paying interest like the rest of us poor HOA sufferers…this one jumps at the chance to be the board treasurer and takes advantage of the interest-free financing at the local HOA. Next.
This guy is nothing short of a bank robber. You can’t just “return” the money and all is forgiven. No doubt he will get a slap on the wrist and HOA probation. It’s a shame he didn’t read Neighbors at War before he siphoned the 43K. The judge should bar him from ever becoming a board member in any HOA!
