Bashing the Handicapped Elderly

We all saw what happened a few days ago when a Missouri HOA refused a sick girl’s request for a playhouse. It went viral, and newspapers and TV stations around the world began covering the story. A certain little HOA president was bombarded with hate calls and mail.

Here’s another case that’s so outrageous it’ll make you spitting mad.

In Atlanta, Rosetta Turner just got out of weeks of intensive care but she’s being harassed to death by the Providence Place Homeowners Association. Rosetta is up to date on her dues. But the HOA has compiled two pages of violations, most of which are not specified. They’ve even fined Rosetta because her home care nurses park on the street, the only place that’s available.

The evil at Providence Place HOA gets worse! Oh, does it get worse.

This fragile, elderly surgical patient now has no running water. Yes, to aggravate the injury and the public humiliation, Providence Place has disconnected her water and won’t turn it back on until she pays thousands of dollars of fines for these violations.

Time to get the NAW grapevine going again!

His new book, "Neighbors At War: the Creepy Case Against Your Homeowners Association," is now available for purchase. From scams to outright violence to foreclosures and neighborhood collapses across the country, the reader will find this book enormously compelling and a necessary read for every homeowner. Knowledge is self-defense. No homeowner contemplating life in an HOA should neglect reading this book. No HOA board officer should overlook this examination of the pitfalls in HOA management. And no lawyer representing either side in an HOA dispute should gloss over what homeowners are saying or believing about the lawsuit industry.

I have many questions but one is WHERE ARE THE GEORGIA LEGISLATORS?

This should not be legal. They are holding her and her water supply hostage for a bunch of bogus fines.

She’s a minority, she’s not elderly but older, she’s in a fragile medical state, and she’s being held responsible for her caregivers parking in the wrong place? How would she know they are parked in the wrong place? She doesn’t look to me like she is getting out and about much.

Once again, here’s proof of how HOAs are destroying home ownership and health in America. If somebody steps up and pays the fines that just encourages and condones what this HOA and property management company are doing.

What’s the solution. Is this a case for HUD? Is this property manager a CAI member?

I’m anxious to hear with others have to say.

Grace Management is now Sentry Management, affiliated with CAI.

Is this what CAI calls “professional” management?

Legislators, take note. You should not be listening to CAI’s lobby efforts to prevent oversight of HOA and the community association management industry. If anything, you have a higher duty to your constituents, to protect their basic human rights as well as general consumer protection.

This sounds like a case for Fair Housing. I believe ‘water’ would be a ‘reasonable accommodation’ for a deathly ill woman with a disability. This HOA better be ready to prove that they’ve shut other owners water off for not paying dues and fines. If not, it’s not going to look good for this HOA. Like they don’t already look heartless enough.

I’m not even going to talk about the race card, I’m just going to take the evil card instead. I’m sure this HOA has opened their fellow homeowners up to a massive lawsuit. Don’t you just love living in an HOA?

What we really need is the names, phone numbers and addresses of these board members a managers so we can begin to gently encourage them to use common sense.
