Shadowmoss or Shadowmess?

guest blog by Nila Ridings

Like most HOA issues outside of the one I live in, someone sends me something to take a look at. Shadowmoss was today’s “Take A Look At This!”

It appears in the first video that an older person with one leg and a wheelchair has been contacted by an attorney over $200 in delinquent dues. The process has begun to foreclose and take his home. There is one really decent man among the homeowners that says he’ll pay the $200 on behalf of that homeowner because the money means nothing to him. THANK YOU MR. CONCERNED NEIGHBOR WITH COMMON SENSE AND A BIG HEART! He does question why nobody on the board bothered to talk to the homeowner before unleashing an attorney on him. The answer seems to be the property manager did it!

Hilarious!

Ya just gotta love Texans. “Remember the Alamo! Remember Goliad!” That was Sam Houston’s cry as his Army chased General Santa Anna across the desert. Texans have always had a fighting spirit.

The story linked below deserves to be read and shared. A number of homeowners in the Pecan Lakes Homeowners Association are rebelling against stupid HOA rules. They’ve got a knight in shining armor and a funny way of defying authority.

These Homeowners Will Lose A Bundle

Ever heard of Keizer? It’s a small community next to Interstate 5 in Central Oregon. And homeowners in the McNary Estates Homeowners Association are about to end up in a giant bloodbath because of stupid HOA leaders. And I mean Stoopid, with a capital ‘S.’

How many times do we hear of HOAs breaking state and federal law protecting handicapped people? You can’t discriminate against them. It’s blatantly illegal and it’s almost an automatic jury verdict of millions. Now, with the mistreatment of the family of a disabled girl, the family has filed a lawsuit. This HOA essentially chased this tragic family out.

My HOA Protects My Property Values!

Well, Bunky, that’s the biggest lie you’ll ever hear.

Several years ago, I warned all of you about the pending crash of the Las Vegas housing market. It happened exactly as I predicted. At the heart of the problem is the government’s reliance on Homeowners Associations to perform traditional government functions and services. All HOA contracts are corrupt at their core. They were a flawed model from the start, and what’s going on in Las Vegas foreshadows what’s coming for the rest of the nation.
