The article linked below is exceedingly long. But it’s another sign the mainstream media are finally ‘getting it.’

His new book, "Neighbors At War: the Creepy Case Against Your Homeowners Association," is now available for purchase. From scams to outright violence to foreclosures and neighborhood collapses across the country, the reader will find this book enormously compelling and a necessary read for every homeowner. Knowledge is self-defense. No homeowner contemplating life in an HOA should neglect reading this book. No HOA board officer should overlook this examination of the pitfalls in HOA management. And no lawyer representing either side in an HOA dispute should gloss over what homeowners are saying or believing about the lawsuit industry.

“We’re Winning the HOA Wars”? Uh, no we’re not. The point of the story is that home owners are not winning this war, because H.O.A. corporations “have all the power”. The story even notes that “HOAs are almost completely unregulated and the law is heavily weighted on the side of the homeowners’ associations — they almost always win.”

Sun Tzu wrote that “all warfare is based on deception”. Yet whatever it is that calls itself an H.O.A. reform movement is hell-bent on fooling itself into believing that progress is being made. Which is why we will continue to lose this war.

Robert, as usual you are right. I probably should have said we are beginning to win the information war. Yes, most warfare is based on deception, but some wars are won by the sheer force of truth. I hope our side doesn’t ever have to rely on deception to get our message across. We know who the deceivers are and it’s not us.

Sun Tzu says “If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles. If you know yourself but not the enemy, for every victory gained you will also suffer a defeat. If you know neither the enemy nor yourself, you will succumb in every battle.”

Whatever it is that calls itself an H.O.A. reform movement knows neither itself nor the enemy.
