A New Sign of Discontent

I’m not smart enough to know if anti-HOA activist Jonathan Friedrich will win his HOA lawsuit in Nevada. He claims he bought the house before the developer included it in an adjacent HOA. Friedrich says his home and several others were missed, and the paperwork was only recently filed. But more than anyone else I know in the country, Jonathan has chutzpah.

GetAttachmentIf your picture is a little grainy, it’s a 50 foot long banner that says, “Rancho Bel Air is Stealing from us and Breaking The Law!

Reminds me of the old advertising saying that goes:

“He who has a thing to sell and goes and whispers in a well is not so apt to get the dollars as he who climbs a tree and hollers.” Keep hollering, Jonathan. We hear you!

Ward Lucas is a longtime investigative journalist and television news anchor. He has won more than 70 national and regional awards for Excellence in Journalism, Creative Writing and community involvement. His new book, "Neighbors At War: the Creepy Case Against Your Homeowners Association," is now available for purchase. In it, he discusses the American homeowners association movement, from its racist origins, to its transformation into a lucrative money machine for the nation's legal industry. From scams to outright violence to foreclosures and neighborhood collapses across the country, the reader will find this book enormously compelling and a necessary read for every homeowner. Knowledge is self-defense. No homeowner contemplating life in an HOA should neglect reading this book. No HOA board officer should overlook this examination of the pitfalls in HOA management. And no lawyer representing either side in an HOA dispute should gloss over what homeowners are saying or believing about the lawsuit industry.

Yes, Jonathan, “keep hollering,” as Ward Lucas, has said. Holler loud and clear. I believe Jonathan very well may be successful, given his circumstances. The bigger problem is the range and numbers of HOA homeowner abuses, financial crimes against HOA homeowners, legal abuses against HOA homeowners and fraudulent property thefts by HOA boards and their accomplices. The press needs to report on every one of these and especially when attorneys are involved in creating the conflict and alleged “debt,” in the way of alleged legal fees, alleged fines, alleged foreclosure costs (fraud closure) to extortion foreclose.
Jonathan Friedrich is the best and a tireless HOA homeowner advocate, and not just for himself, but countless others in Nevada and across the USA. The Las Vegas Review-Journal needs to report on Jonathan Friedrich and his HOA ordeal. Other, MSM outlets should cover it too, and I have passed this information along to numerous members of the press and TV stations across the country. Jonathan’s case is an excellent starting point for the press to start to report the truth of the real HOA homeowner atrocities and crimes against innocent HOA homeowners in America. Thank you for blogging about this, Ward Lucas!
